    2011 Cleveland Pride Lacey Conner

Cleveland- One of Vh1’s most notorious reality stars, Lacey Conner, will perform live on June 25 at the 2011 Cleveland Pride Festival.

Lacey Conner has been a major player in the music world for over a decade- most notably singing for Lords of Acid on their 2010 U.S. tour, and also as the singer and founder of her own band Nocturne. But what Lacey is best known for is her villainous ways on Vh1′s “Rock of Love”, and on Vh1′s “Charm School”. Lacey may be a villain on TV, but in real life, Lacey is an advocate of human rights, equality, and animal welfare.

Lacey states “I have always had a strong opinion that ALL people, regardless of race, gender, nationality, religion, or sexual orientation, deserve the same rights as everyone else. And I will always be an advocate of the gay/lesbian community. I am extremely honored and excited to be performing at the Cleveland Pride Festival this year!”

Theron of Pride Entertainment states “A lot of people don’t know the real Lacey Conner who is a strong independent humanitarian. I am happy to bring her to Pride because Lacey uses her celebrity to stand up for causes close to her heart and is a champion of equality.”

Lacey is an animal advocate, a promoter of human rights and equality, and is a protector of the environment. She founded her own dog rescue organization, “Heroes K9 Rescue”, four years ago – where she rescues and re-homes shelter dogs that are scheduled to be euthanized. Lacey is also an accomplished musician, and has toured the country multiple times performing in front of tens of thousands of fans. “Cleveland Pride has been a special partner to Flex Hotel, Spa & Gym for many years,” shared Gregory Yakovlivech, Assistant General Manager & Operations Manager of the Cleveland complex. “The bar was set very high during 2006 to ensure community support for LGBT public events. CALLING ALL HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE GSA’s (Gay Straight Alliance) GROUPS OF GREATER CLEVELAND, AKRON, YOUNGSTOWN, AND TOLEDO

    Hello GSA groups.

I’m Todd Saporito, President and CEO for Cleveland Lesbian Gay Bi Trans, Inc. DBA\ Cleveland Pride, Inc. I m currently leading over 40 significant volunteers in creating and programming our 2011 Cleveland Pride Parade, Rally and Festival. As a father of a 24 year old daughter, I’m proud of how my daughter has allied herself to her fellow classmates throughout her high school years and even through college. As she graduates with her masters this month, I know my daughter will go forward standing behind any group that requires allies to assure progress in equal rights and treatment.

The 2011 Theme is “Equality for All: Celebrating our Allies”.

As in recent past years, the 2011 Cleveland Pride event will be held in Downtown Cleveland behind the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at Voinovich Park starting at 12 Noon. Our parade will begin queuing at 11 AM near W 9th Street, preparing its journey down Lakeside Avenue, past City Hall and the Free Stamp.

Once again, Cleveland Pride would like to collaborate with high school and college GSA’s. We do this through exclusively staffing all pop and water stations with GSA students. Distribution of the net proceeds (removing cost of goods sold) will be split 50/50 between Cleveland Pride and the participating GSA’s. GSA distribution is determined by a simple calculation of the number of hours worked by each GSA volunteer on behalf of their high school or college during the event.

We thank our donors and our sponsors that donate pop and water to Cleveland Pride, as it increases the distributions to both Cleveland Pride and the GSA’s.

Please go to http://www.clevelandpride.org/home/get-involved-at-pride/volunteer/volunteer-application/ and fill out our volunteer mini-application. Please select pop and water assignment and enter your high school and or collage name in our comments section. Please encourage your high school or college LGBT and/or Diversity student body liaison to register as well as contact Cleveland Pride directly.

GSA students and GSA high school and college liaison (high school and college personnel) responsible for the health and welfare of their diversity programs, particularly the GSA’s are encourage to contact me at ToddJSaporito@clevelandpride.org or on my cell at 216-905-8005.
