    ART CARES 2011: Saturday April 16th – AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland Fundraiser

    2011 - 04.12

    ArtCares 2011

    April 16, 2011

    Nordstrom presents ArtCares 2011, with the generous support of Toby Devan Lewis. This signature fundraiser for the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland will be held at the Battery Park Power House (in the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood on Cleveland’s Near West Side) on Saturday, April 16th at 7:00pm for VIPs, and 8pm for the public. All proceeds from the event directly support the AIDS Taskforce.

    This year’s event will honor the Zone Family for their unwavering support of the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland, the arts, and the City of Cleveland. Councilman Joe Cimperman will serve as auctioneer, and the event chairs are John Farina & Adam Tully, and Noelle Celeste & Jon Benedict. Honorary Chairman is Howard Lake. Entertainment will be provided by the always irreverent and fun, Lounge Kitty, and DJ MisterbradleyP.

    Ticket prices are $50 for General Admission and $100 for VIP. Please contact Rebecca Strong at rstong@atfgc.org, or 216.621.0766 x232 for more information.

    Initiated by the Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA) in 2003, ArtCares is now an established collaborative tradition between the CIA and the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland. This event arose from awareness of the devastating impact the AIDS epidemic has had on individuals involved in the creative arts community, and from a consequent awareness that artists are uniquely positioned to contribute to the fight against HIV/AIDS. ArtCares celebrates contemporary art with both a silent and live auction of donated work.

    ArtCares 2011 is generously sponsored by:
    Toby Devan Lewis

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    Founded in 1989, Cleveland Pride has been an integral part of the Northeastern Ohio region for the past 21 years. Cleveland’s Pride celebration is among the first half-dozen such events launched in the U.S., making our Parade and Festival among the longest continuing Pride events in the country.
    On an ongoing basis, Cleveland Pride brings awareness, education and knowledge of the queer community to the general public to discourage/eliminate prejudice and discrimination on the basis of a person’s actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity. Cleveland Pride openly recognizes and embraces all individuals of the queer community who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer questioning, intersex and straight allies, while understanding that each group identified exists in all ages, races, national origins and physical abilities.

    Dare2Care: Fashion Gala at the Cuyahoga County Courthouse on May 1, 2011

    2011 - 04.02

    The Human Rights Campaign and the LGBT Center of Greater Cleveland invites you to join us in our fight against teen bullying and teen suicide. Please join us for our first ever Dare to Care – Fashion Gala at the Cuyahoga County Courthouse on May 1, 2011: A benefit designed to educate and integrate. Our May Day – Gay Day is a call to arms: a distress signal to the Cleveland community that our children can be placed at significant risk from bullying and that we all share the responsibility to ensure that they do not live in fear. You are requested simply to “come as you are.” Our Gala promises to be a night of full acceptance and inclusion.
