The 22nd Annual Cleveland Pride Festival will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Voinovich Park from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Cleveland Pride’s annual parade, rally and festival is a tradition attended by LGBT and non-LGBT community members throughout Northeast Ohio. This year’s festival focuses on bringing all different segments and diverse groups of the LGBT community together to celebrate the milestones we have made in Cleveland and worldwide. Cleveland Pride Vice-President Todd Saporito stated, “In our 2010 celebration, we will be celebrating the movement ahead of LGBT civil rights and our accomplishments within the community.”
Specifically, this year we will celebrate the passing of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), prohibiting employment discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity, and the acquisition of the 2014 Gay Games to be hosted in Cleveland.
Cleveland Pride President/CEO Jeff Steinberg is excited about the new date of Pride this year.
“Traditionally we have always used the third week of June as the date of Pride and have had a great turnout. Now that we have been able to move the event a week later, we are hoping to involve those individuals who normally attend Columbus Pride. This will give the community the availability of not having to choose between which Pride Even they will be able to attend.
Additional information will be posted on a later date describing details on entertainment line-ups, fundraisers, and events being held this year during and around the parade, rally and festival.
