Em Cees needed for Cleveland Pride

    2009 - 04.30

    Were you the class clown?

    Can you entertain and mesmerize?

Can you hold a crowd’s attention for more than 30 seconds?

If this is you, we need your help!

Cleveland Pride is looking to showcase additional local talent at our festival by putting you to work as an Em Cee, or Master of Ceremonies.

If you enjoy being the center of attention and making a crowd laugh, then please complete and submit the mini-volunteer application form. Please note in the comments section: Price Em Cee.

We are seeking funny, upbeat, energetic and even offbeat individuals, or pairs of individuals, to help introduce acts and to serve as MCs of YOUR festival on June 20th in Voinovich Park.

We look forward to hearing from you, SOON!

All interested parties should respond no later than June 1.

    Parade Participants March for Free

    2009 - 04.30

2009 marks the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in NYC, the event that marks the official beginning of the LGBT community’s fight for equal rights.

In light of this anniversary, Cleveland Pride is allowing parade participants to march for free; however, Cleveland Pride will be accepting donations in advance of the festival.

Given this economic climate, it is near impossible to host an event without monetary support. In the spirit of giving, won’t you consider making a tax deductible donation to Cleveland Pride to ensure that the parade and festival, which are hosted for you, will go off without a hitch this year.

Founded in 1989, Cleveland Pride has been an integral part of the Northeastern Ohio region for the past 21 years. Cleveland’s Pride celebration is among the first half-dozen such events launched in the U.S., making our Parade and Festival among the longest continuing Pride events in the country.

On an ongoing basis, Cleveland Pride brings awareness, education and knowledge of the queer community to the general public to discourage/eliminate prejudice and discrimination on the basis of a person’s actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity. Cleveland Pride openly recognizes and embraces all individuals of the queer community who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer questioning, intersex and straight allies, while understanding that each group identified exists in all ages, races, national origins and physical abilities.
